Parental Stress Level

Some people say parenting can be very challenging or overwhelming.  Boy are those people are right!  Even though parenting can also be rewarding, those rewards to not necessarily negate the stress or challenge of it all.  Parenting is often challenging and rewarding.  The testing for parental stress levels gives Dr. Jimenez an idea of issues you might have as a parent and if your scores fall in the typical or atypical range for parents of children the same age as your child.  That is—are you more stress, less stressed, or about as stressed as the typical parent with a child of the same age and gender as yours?

The parental stress evaluation provides some insight into what is causing stress for you as a parent and then Dr. Jimenez provides recommendations to you about how you might eliminate or differently (read: better) manage that stress.  In our society today, it’s normal to feel some level of stress, but too much stress can really affect you and your family—including your child.

When Dr. Jimenez has a good idea about your level of stress and in what areas of life that stress is coming from, she can provide some objective and subjective recommendations to help you decrease that level of stress.  If your stress level is not outside of the normal range, she may also be able to provide some relief to you in knowing that you are not alone.

Although you are feeling stressed, your stress is about the same for other parents of children the same age and gender of your child.

Providing Stress Relief for Parents

The testing for parental stress level is a survey completed by mom AND dad separately outside of the office.

As a parent herself, Dr. Jimenez is personally very familiar with the stresses of parenting and step-parenting.  She is passionate about providing answers and guidance to parents about their own stress levels and wellness.  Dr. Jimenez is so passionate about this that she even wrote her dissertation on it!  Parents are often stressed as they work so hard to provide for their families and try to balance work and home life.  Also, parents are people, too.

There are typically no other people who have more influence in a child’s life than their parents.  When we are stressed, we affect the family.  Dr. Jimenez wants to help you and your family de-stress in healthy and connecting ways.
