Career Assessments in Frisco, TX

What does your adolescent want to be when they grow up?  If only we knew!  Well, with a career assessment, Dr. Jimenez will help your adolescent discover or narrow down some of their areas of interest.  The career assessment is best for adolescents and adults, not for children younger than 14 years old. This is not something given to younger children.

Career interest testing is NOT about what they are already good at, but rather, what they LIKE to do and what they would like to learn more about.  Interests develop into passion through knowledge.  When I know what your child is interested in, the assessment helps me provide some ideas about how to grow that interest into a career.

Career assessments can provide lots of ideas about what kinds of jobs your child would be passionate about or interested in.  The assessment offers careers that may be familiar to your child, and sometimes careers that your child may never have heard of or thought about!

Sometimes this can be confirmation about what they already thought they wanted to do or sometimes it can open up new worlds they didn’t even know existed!  Career assessments are based on your child’s strengths and interests—not their proficiencies.

Helping Teenagers Navigate Their Future

The career interest inventory occurs during the assessment process between Dr. Jimenez and your child.  Your teen answers all questions on a computer as Dr. Jimenez provides support while they go through the questions.  When it is completed, Dr. Jimenez and your teen move on with the next portion of the assessment.  Responses are later scored and a full detailed report is printed for you and your teen to review.  These responses help determine recommendations for your teen and your family to help set them up for success in their career.

Dr. Jimenez has an interest in helping your adolescent in the long run—not just for the next year or two.  Part of the college experience of developing self-awareness can be exhausting, nerve-wracking, and can take a long time.  Getting testing during the high school years can give your child a step-up as they are focusing on their long-term future and career.  This may help give them direction in choosing their major which might narrow down college or other career choices.  Dr. Jimenez’s focus is on your child’s future and career is certainly a large part of that!
