adhd testing for adults
Although Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is often diagnosed in childhood or adolescents, is not always the case. When adults find themselves distracted, unable to focus, have consistent difficulty completing tasks or projects, and have a hard time remembering regular things like bringing their laptop to work, grabbing their lunch, etc., it can be a sign of ADHD. If you are in Georgia, reach out and we can schedule your testing in-person or virtually so it is most convenient for you.
Counseling for adhd in children and teens
Medication is not the only answer for treatment of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is often treated through therapy in various ways, though it is often vital to work through and figure out how to help children and adolescents. Sometimes that looks like finding systems and reminders that help each individual to get things done that have to get done (think homework, chores, remembering shoes, etc.). Sometimes counseling for ADHD looks like finding coping skills to deal with distractions and building self-esteem. In US society children and teens with ADHD or any other form of neurodivergence often suffer. The expectations to be “just like everyone else” can be crushing to self-esteem and self-image. We can help.
Counseling for ADHD in Adults
Just like with children and teens, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is not restricted to a medication-only approach. While medication is necessary for some, it is not necessary for all. We do not take a cookie-cutter approach to either the evaluation or treatment process. We offer individualized treatment plans which may focus on a number of goals. Some examples of treatment goals are to help decrease distractions, to help stay on task for work or home, or even to help build self-esteem and self-image. Being neurodivergent in a cookie-cutter world creates unique challenges. We can help!
